Disabled products still visible in grouped product options

Hi Everyone

I have a big issue with grouped products on the front end of my website.

I have disabled the simple products that we no longer have, yet they still show as options in the grouped products on the store. I have even gone into the grouped product, opened the list of simple products in there and the items are "disabled", so why are they still showing on the front end?

Some items don't even have a simple product yet are still showing in the grouped dropdown options! It's causing a lot of grief as people are able to purchase these items  

How can I fix this? Anyone who can help, please bear in mind I will need to relay the solution to what could possibly be the WORST web developer team in the world

Have you tried running reindexing command and cleaning cache commands.

It's all I seem to do these days!

I have refreshed and flushed cache and reindexed but nothing is changing

You can try unassigning simple products from the grouped products and then clear cache and check. You can do this by going to products then grouped products and then click on remove
