Extension CSS overriding theme

Anyway to globally give my theme css higher specificity than an extension. I installed an extension that uses bootstrap and it is wreaking havoc on my theme. Thanks.

So, is it a bug in the extension?

I don't know, I'm pretty new to Magento still. I didn't think the css from an extension should be overriding my theme css though.

If you suspect it as a bug in the extension I would recommend to contact the extension's developer to clarify it.

With regards to the subject question, when an extension css is overriding a theme css, that means it's most likely a bug in the extension, right? 

In my case, I contacted the extension provider and they were asking for some charges in order to fix the issue for me. They highlighted that, they'll have to customise the extension to my needs. That does not make sense, because anyone using the same theme and the same extension will face the same problem, does that mean they'll have to keep charging their customers. Doesn't see right.
