Values from Custom Customer Attribute in forms

I have created a custom customer attribute and it is saving in the admin. How can I add this to the frontend forms? I have tried to duplicate what is present in other fields but it doesn't work

I have also tried $block->getFormData->getCustomField() but it doens't work

Any ideas?
