For development is recommend work with Data migration tool from M1 to M2?

Does recommend work with Both M1 and M2 after successful Data migration?

We are developing Magento 2.3.3 website, still Magento 1.9 site live. After successful Data migration using data migration tool from m1 to m2, still m1 live upto 5 months as well as working with magento 2.3.3.

Is my workout recommend?

I'm looking forward to hearing more info from the community on this post as well. We have our own internal tooling to do migrations, so I'm interested to hear stories of those who have used the Magento tool set.

Hi @mavericklan_mav,

I believe we (as IT and developers) are always part of the business and we need to provide the service the business need.

Based on what you're saying you will need, at least, one more migration (the day you close the M1 store) to sync all the missing data on M2.

If you are ready to move to M2, in theory, you shouldn't need big work on M1 because your big requests are for M2. If those changes are related to security, you should do it (of course).

Small features should be revisited and, probably, created for the 2 stores.

Ideally, the M1 could be on a freeze stage, where no changes are applied (but we know that isn't possible all the time).

I guess there isn't an unique answer for every scenario.

(my 2 cents)
