Hello everyone! I am very new to Magento. I installed Magento 2(2.3) and i have a problem. I don't know how to customize topmenu.phtml. My project component look like this:

I created a lots of css and less files but nothing work. For example i want to change the background color of all menu, the background color of the first element, put it on center of the page and change the width of the submenus. Can anyone tell me if there is a specific name for the css/less file and a specific folder where to put it? I saw the class for the first link from menu is nav-1 for the whole navigation is navigation but i still cannot modify them. Thank you!
