After updating to 2.4.2

Cannot gather stats! Warning!stat(): stat failed

seems like your system does not support Magento_Csp 

kindly try disabling Magento_Csp 

php bin/magento module:disable Magento_Csp

and deploy again 

php  bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy -f

if this is resolved then you need to debug & check the folder permissions.

fixed it by removing pub/media/ in database on each item

I have tried re-indexing but not solved. 

How did you remove pub/media in database? Is this safe?

went item by item and deleted pub/media and just left the image name there I have not had a issue yet

catalog_category_entity_varchar  is where I changed it in database
