Cannot log into magento connect manager

Hi,

I am suddenly unable to log into my connect manager from the admin panel. Although I can log in to this site, just not through my store any more. I changed the password to see if that was the problem and it hasn't made any difference.

I tried to access via firefox and safari and both the same result.

Does anyone know how to overcome this please?

I had this same problem. There may be corruption in your magento connect config file.

To fix it, delete or rename the file "[install path]/downloader/connect.cfg"

The file will be recreated after you successfully log in again.
