M2.x: missing message "product is available to buy in increments of x

In Magento 1.x, a pop up used to appear when the shopping cart did not contain the correct quantity increment according to the advanced inventory setting on the Product Page in the backend.

In M2, I do not see that message.

Instead, there is only a hardly noticable red-frame and blur around the Qty block on the frontend Product Page.

Is there a backend setting that generates the error message in the front end when the quantity some user is trying to put in the shopping cart does not match the backend increment setting?

This is what I am referring to:

M1.x shows error message when chosen quantity does not match backend product increment setting.

M2.x DOES NOT show error message when chosen quantity does not match backend product increment setting. Only fine red line and blur appears on Qty block.
