MariaDB database support

I had this error during installation today:

Current version of RDBMS is not supported. Used Version: 10.5.15-MariaDB-0+deb11u1. Supported versions: MySQL-8, MySQL-5.7, MariaDB-(10.2-10.4)

 

Please do not know if this can be bypassed or when magento will support newer versions of the database?

Hi @obchodjeff08aa 

At present 10.4 is the supported version of Maria DB. Please check here https://devdocs.magento.com/guides/v2.4/install-gde/system-requirements.html . May bein upcoming major release latest version of Maria DB support version will be provided.

Is there a timeline for when MariaDB 10.6 will be supported? We have over 100 customer hosting a magento shop and we are currently planning to update our database infrastructure vom 10.3 to 10.6 this summer. Magento is the only CMS/E-Commerce platform, that does not support it (resp. actively preventing the installation)
