Problems with Authorize.net and my Magento 2.3 store

After numerous back and forth with authorize.net, I still cannot get it to work on my magento store. It gives a Sorry, but something went wrong. Please contact seller message. The orders show up on my backend but do not process. when I submit the invoice it says "Gateway error: the merchant login id is invalid or the account is inactive"

Can you please check the information about “API Login ID“, “Transaction Key” and “Merchant MD5” for your Authorize.NET account.

I did check those and entered them as they were. Im guessing that the problem is with the Merchant MD5 value because i read that is no longer used yet it shows up on my magento admin
