We're experiencing a problem with the speed of our site. Navigating around category or CMS pages seem to be reasonable, but when we're viewing a product we see load speeds of 7+ seconds before any information is returned to the browser.
I've been running my own strace tests to see where things could be going wrong. I noted that on a product page M2 seems to be compiling LESS files which is slowing the process down considerably, but I didn't observe this behaviour on category pages.

Is this normal? I would appreciate ideas on how to stop this from happening please!
