magento 2.3 product image assignment issue

I am facing the following issue.

I have created a new "Media image" attribute. In one configurable product, I have uploaded one sample image being assigned to the custom media_image attribute, but the same image is also displayed in my store's first configurable product. even Name of Image is also the same for both the products without file dispersion.

Can anyone face same issue? can anyone help me to fix this issue?

Well till now haven't seen this kind of issue !

Can you please give some idea - how exactly you have created that media attribute for configurable product ? - so its help us to troubleshoot the issue.

Hi, 

I have created a custom image attribute by install setup script. Let me explain my issue in brief. 

I have created a "promotional_image" attribute, Now in fifth no configurable product, I am going to upload one image assign to the "promotional_image" attribute. But the same image with that path is also assigned to my store's first configurable product automatically. 

Both the products use same, image path. I don't understand why this happens.
