"Processing" order status state missing from dropdown after update

After the latest update (2.3.4) we no longer have the ability to assign a status to the "processing" order state.  This is supposed to be a default order state.  There is still one status that has that "processing" state assigned but it isn't the default status that we need and that "processing" state is no longer an option in the drop down of available states that can be assigned to a given status.  We want the default status for "processing" state to be the "processing" status.  The current default status for "processing" state is "order picked" (custom status) and because the "processing" state is no longer available in the drop down we are unable to assign that state to any other process and change the default.

The processing status is there in default Magento 2.3.4, it must be the issue of custom order status extension you are using, or something else,
