Is there anyway of being notified of any Magento version update without the admin panel?

Say I have 2 sites that I don't really logon to the admin panel all that often, is there anyway to notify me of any updates to magento? e.g. RSS feed, Email ?

I heard of a potential rss feed from a host computer but i have no idea how I would set something like this up.

I'm surprised it isnt a feature that is more common knowledge as I imagine a large amount of people have several sites to manage at once.

Failing that, is there anyway to auto update ?

I understand the problem you are facing !

Magento Doesn't have any functionality like auto update its version ..

to upgrade magento you will always required to perform the pre-define steps ..

Regarding Newer version notes , i would suggest you to check release notes always - https://devdocs.magento.com/guides/v2.2/release-notes/bk-release-notes.html

You just need to make sure the current version of your existing system and then compare to release notes , it will helps you to know you required to update your magento version or not ..

This may work if i only had 1 site, but say i have upwards of 10, it is simply no an option for me to check consistently what version each is on and then check it against the current version. 

I don't know enough or even even know if it possible to be able to create a web scraper to pull information from https://magento.com/tech-resources/download and then compare it against each website then give an alert through email, when a new version is out.
