hummm..
I had the same issue.
nothing seems done at the backend.
So I remove the update flag and maintenance flag.

Then wait for 2.0.4..

2.0.4 is out now.

And I went into the same problem again...

Any one? any idea?

Re: Stuck during system upgrade 2.0.2 -> 2.0.3

This works for me.

composer require magento/product-community-edition 2.0.4 --no-update
composer update
rm -rf var/di var/generation
php bin/magento cache:clean
php bin/magento cache:flush
php bin/magento setup:upgrade
php bin/magento setup:di:compile
php bin/magento indexer:reindex

Did you check your apache and php logs? I just had the same issue and saw that it was a memory timeout for composer.  Increased it to 4gb and it updated ok.
