Magento 2.x is now up to 2.3.0.
2.3.1 is expected to be released later this month.
Magento 1.x goes end of life in June of 2020.
In the meantime, the free Community / Open Source version is up to 1.9.4, and Magento Commerce / Enterprise is up to 1.14.4.
Patches and updates are available via https://magento.com/tech-resources/download
Side from version updates, keep an eye on patches. For instance when was just released for Authorize.net users. You can learn more about that at https://jetrails.com/blog/magento-news-feb-2019/
You're probably also due for hosting updates, such as to your version of php. New releases of Magento / patches allow for compatibility with newer versions of pho, where many old versions are now end of life and unsupported.
Best of luck!
