Upgrade magento 2.13 to 2.14 shared hosting

I have shared magento hosting Im currently running 2.1.3....I have done a database backup a system backup and a database and media backup and downloaded all files...

Can I now just get my host to delete all contents of my magento dir and clone a fresh 2.1.4 version and then restore my system from the 3 files I downloaded in backup of 2.1.3....so that....

...The store configuration restores all its inputs

....I just have to upload previous theme files to get back settings

I cant do an update on the shared hosting as I have to ask tech support to run commands in the CLI for me...and they install cloned versions of magento so I am unable to use the inbuilt update

Cheers for any confirmations Smiley Happy

@dragon_sa

In my opinion, it's worth upgrading to a VPS at least so you have full access to the CLI. Magento2 uses CLI commands a lot and if you don't have access to the CLI then you'll face a lot of issues.

For this time, you can bulk delete the files from your shared CPanel; alternatively, you could also rename the root httpdocs directory and create an empty one to install the fresh copy but I'd highly recommend getting the CLI access.

I hope that helps.
