Upgrading and support for 2.0.x

Hi All, I have been told by my developer that support for 2.0.x will cease in the near future, also Magento will stop support for 2.1 and 2.2 once 2.3 is released, is this true? I do not believe this but who knows? 

What would be the approximate time taken to upgrade from 2.0.8 to 2.2 or 2.3.

All above relates to community editions

Magento will continue with previous versions, 2.1, 2.2 as well and if you want to upgrade to Magento 2.3 you can easily upgrade if there are no customizations in the core. If you will talk about estimated time then it depends on your customization work and plugins you install in it.

Magento is going to discontinue its support for magento 1.

As known as i know for magento 2 support is always there - even though new version release 2.3 still magento 2.1 and 2.2 support is always there !

For Magento 2.0 - yes that is correct After march 2018 Magento 2.0.x will no longer receive security patches, quality fixes, or documentation updates.

So here i would suggest you to upgrade your magento version from magento 2.0 to at least 2.2 

If you haven't made any depth customization then its easy to move/upgrade your website from magento 2.0 to 2.2
