Announcing Page Builder for Magento Open Source

sidolovado
Adobe Team

We are excited to announce that Page Builder, our visual drag & drop content editor, will be available for Magento Open Source users as well as Adobe Commerce users with the 2.4.3 release. This change provides a unified native CMS tool across our platforms which will enable the Magento Community to develop extensions utilizing Page Builder in order to deliver value for the entire ecosystem.

Page Builder has had great success since its initial release in 2019 and today there are more than 1,000 merchants that actively manage the customer experience for their stores with the help of Page Builder. With broader availability, we look forward to seeing that number of users grow exponentially and bring additional value to our Magento Open Source clients.

As adoption grows, we will continue to invest in Page Builder and encourage the community to join us in this effort. On August 25th we will host a community engagement webinar dedicated to Page Builder. If you are interested in what is coming next with Page Builder, how to leverage it for your customizations and extensions, or want to engage furtherregister now!

I'm not loving the new Page Builder. I just upgraded from an older version where I had a choice of editing code or using a WYSIWYG editor. 80% of the time I use the HTML editor, but for simple text updates, I ofter use the WYSIWYG editor because its simpler. The new Page Builder does not seem to have a WYSIWYG editor, unless I just can't find it. But why would it be hidden? This the this is a bit of a miss.
