GitHub | Backlog Project | Slack

  • We announced and walked through the Magento 2 public Backlog Project, including highlights on many special projects and work completed, in-flight, and in the backlog.
  • Please read over the readme for complete details. This is intended for viewing, not adding new issues. All items on the project are not in a prioritized list.
  • All issues are labeled as Community or Internal. Some items may link out to other project repositories and wikis for complete details.
  • We also added a Public Backlog channel in Slack for general questions.
  • If looking to join a new project, check in Slack for a project channel, ask in the General channel, and check the GitHub projects linked in this newsletter and others.

Contributor Guide notices

DevDocs | Contributor Guide | Coding Standards

  • We added notices to the Contributor guide regarding changes to accepted Pull Requests and code contributions for Community Contributions.
  • v2.1 End of ContributionAs of September 17, 2018, we no longer accept contributions to the v2.1 release line. Continue submitting contributions for the v2.2 and v2.3 release lines. We made this change to increase our focus on issue investigations and pull request approvals for v2.2 and v2.3 release lines.
  • v2.2 Contribution NoticeAs of September 17, 2018, in an effort to keep 2.2 and 2.3 releases aligned, we will only accept pull requests to 2.2-develop that contain changes already existing in 2.3-develop. We recommend submitting pull requests to 2.3-develop then back porting the changes to 2.2-develop.
  • v2.3 Contribution NoticeAs of September 17, 2018, in an effort to keep 2.2 and 2.3 releases aligned, we accept pull requests to 2.3-develop and encourage back ports to 2.2-develop. We no longer accept pull requests to the v2.1 or v2.0 release lines to focus all development efforts on v2.3 and v2.2.
