Introducing DevExchange for developers attending Imagine 2017

Introducing DevExchange for developers attending Imagine 2017

After much consideration, we've decided to switch things up this year and revamp BarCamp into a new developer focused event called DevExchange, which will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, between 2:00 to 5:00 pm.

DevExchange is your chance to kick back, discuss key developer topics, and learn how your peers are tackling the same challenges. From now through March 10, you can head over to our Magento Imagine DevExchange 2017 board and submit topics that are most interesting to you. Whether you’re submitting topics or interested in discussing them, be sure to vote for your favorites so we know which ones to select for the event! Interested in leading a discussion? Volunteer on the topic post.

Topics will take place in the form of roundtable discussions with a discussion leader from the community as well as a subject matter expert from the Magento team (where possible). You’ll have the opportunity to participate in two different topics in addition to networking with other attendees over refreshments, drinks, and Magento U-style ping pong.

In addition, our Magento U and DevDocs teams will be onsite to hear from you on:

  • Suggested Magento 2 certification questions
  • Suggested use cases to include in DevDocs

Contribute to the Magento 2 Developer Certification

Magento U is gearing up for the Magento 2 Developer certification program and is giving you the opportunity to contribute. We're opening up our certification item writing process and giving  you the chance to submit your best question to our test development team for consideration in upcoming exam development.  You'll also need to provide up to 6 possible answers as well.  We will post some additional information and item writing guidelines in the Magento U forum as we get closer to the event!

We Want Your Use Cases!

The more that our DevDocs team learns about the real-life use cases from across our community, the better opportunity that we can support your work. At DevExchange, we will have a laptop ready and opened to our repo, with a short and easy template to fill out. You can quickly describe the use case, what business need it solves, and any details about the typical user and scenario. For example: "As an Admin I want to be able to select a checkbox on an Order and have a pre-defined address populate the Shipping Address field."

Tell us at least three of your most common use cases that you wish were documented super-well, and we'll get you some great Magento swag!

We look forward to seeing you at DevExchange. Until then, go submit your topics and vote on those you'd like to discuss!
