Magento Community Edition 2.1 Release Candidate 1 is Ready for Testing!

Developers! We need your help to ensure that Magento Community Edition 2.1 delivers the highest quality at launch. Please take time to test the new Release Candidate 1 (RC1) software and submit any issues that you discover over the next 3 weeks. You should also use this as an opportunity to start upgrading your extensions to support Magento 2.1 in preparation for General Availability (GA) in mid-June.

Magento Community Edition 2.1 RC1 software is stable and no new features will be added or significant changes made prior to GA. There are known bugs that we will fix, along with any other high priority issues that are submitted, up until release. APIs are unchanged, but there are some class and interface modifications that you should be aware of. Please note that we recommend using our core APIs when implementing customizations to insure backward compatibility. While the code is stable, it isn’t recommended for production use at this time. More information about the RC1 software is available in the release notes.

You can access the software from GitHub (https://github.com/magento/magento2) or repo.magento.com. Any issues you discover should be filed on the GitHub repository.

Thank you in advance for helping to ensure that Magento Community Edition 2.1 is ready for release!
