USPS API patch available – Addresses changes impacting shipments to and from Canada

The USPS changed their APIs on May 31, 2015, impacting shipping rate requests for international shipments to and from Canada. Some shipping rates will not be properly returned, and customers will not see all shipping options available to them. To address this change, merchants who ship to and from Canada using USPS live rates will need to update their Magento site with the USPS API patch. Here are additional details:

 

  • PATCH NUMBER: SUPEE-6237

 

  • PATCH VERSION AVAILABILITY:
    • Enterprise Edition versions 1.11 and later
    • Community Edition versions 1.6 and later

 

  • DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS:
    • Partners:
      • Go to the Partner Portal, select Technical Resources and then select Download from the Enterprise Edition panel. Next, navigate to Magento Enterprise Edition > Patches & Support and look for the folder titled “Support Patches – June 2015”
    • Enterprise Edition Merchants
      • Go to My Account, select the Downloads tab, and then navigate to Magento Enterprise Edition > Support Patches. Look for the folder titled “Support Patches – June 2015” 
    • Community Edition Merchants:
      • Go to the Community Edition download page and look for SUPEE-6237

 

  • INSTALLING A PATCH:

    Please upload the patch into your Magento root directory and run the appropriate SSH command:

    • For patch files with the file extension .sh:

      sh patch_file_name.sh

      Example: sh PATCH_SUPEE-1868_CE_1.7.0.2_v1.sh

    • For patch files with the file extension .patch:

      patch –p0 < patch_file_name.patch


    Once that is done, refresh the cache in the Admin under "System > Cache Management" so that the changes will be reflected. We highly recommend you test all patches in a test environment before taking them live.
