Order status not updating to Processing after payment

Hi, 

 

I'm using CE 1.9.1.2 and I'm having an issue with order statuses. After a customer pays for an item, the order status does not update to 'Processing' in the admin panel; it remains stuck on 'Pending'. I'm using Paypal and Sage Pay as payment methods, and the issue occurs for orders placed with both. 

 

Any help would be appreciated.
