How many products Magento can handle?

My client has around 3 thousand products and he wants to use magento. My question is that how many products magento can handle. I am concerned about the speed of the website. Tell me the best way to lineup the things in the right way.

Magento can handle 3 thousand products very well. Are all the products simple or configurable?

HI, according to my experience. It can handle upto 2500 without facing any issue. As I have integrated upto 2500 on jazz sms packages as the speed was fine. But when I increase the products above 2500 then it was showing page speed issue thats why I removed the extra products form it.

Magento will be absolutely fine with 3000 products. Here I also have a question. Is it necessary to have plenty of products in order to rank? Like, I have a store called superbotanicals.co. It is related to beauty products. I've added 7 products as of now. Should I add more to rank?
