After upgrade to 2.02 my pages show the create an account text twice in the top nav bar.

A dev edited this area some time ago for a problem fix and it worked but now the theme has upgraded it seems to have caused this double up.
Can someone please tell me what file to edit to remove the first one, which has a link to the same page and should not be there.
The active theme is a custom theme pulling from Magento Blank origin.
When I edit it do I also need to regenerate the static files?
