Yes it does, I've had some joker for the last week try to submit orders with this code in the name fields on the checkout page... not sure what they are trying to accomplish.

Re: Does Magento 2 allow special characters in the First Name & Last Name fields?
Yes, Magento 2 does allow special characters in the First Name and Last Name fields by default. However, certain special characters might be restricted depending on the configuration or any custom validation rules applied to those fields. For example, some special characters like <, >, or quotes may be restricted for security reasons to prevent issues like cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks. If you encounter restrictions or need to adjust the allowed special characters, such as in a case like xxbrits, you can customize the validation rules in the Magento backend or use custom extensions to change the input validation for those fields.

Re: Does Magento 2 allow special characters in the First Name & Last Name fields?
Yes, Magento 2 allows special characters in the First Name and Last Name fields by default. However, this can be modified through validation rules or customizations in the code. For example, if you're running an e-commerce platform related to influencers or online communities, such as SocialMediaGirls, you might want to allow for usernames with special characters. In that case, Magento 2 can be adjusted to accommodate this by customizing the validation logic for those fields in the backend. It's important to review any third-party modules or custom validation rules that could impact this functionality.
