You need to disable site wide meta data and create meta tags for each page individually.   However, you should know that meta tags should be relevant, optimized and unique for each page of your site. This is SEO optimization, and the amount of efforts put in it defines the results of your site performance in search engines.   You can create meta tags manually. For example, we use this approach on our site as we have not so many products. But if your inventory is extensive, it may be too hard to go through all meta tags manually. As an alternative, you can use this extension  which helps to generate unique and relevant meta data based on the templates you create yourself.   This extension is applicable if you're using Magento 1, not Magento 2.
