@ratan_shastri package.xml is not required.

Just flush the cache the cache from magento admin and logut from the admin.

Then again login and you will be able to see the extension in admin.

If found useful "Accept as Solution".

Thanks

@ratan_shastri If you are facing issues which installing through connect just download the zip and extract it and copy all the folders to magento root.

Thanks

Re: Problem when installing a Magento 1 extension using wamp 3.3

Thanks for replying. But could you pls help me with this.

Following are the folders and now where to copy these files & in which folder -

Folder 1 : app

Folder 2 : js

Folder 3 : media

Folder 4 : skin

If I copy the Folder 1, it will overwrite the "app" already present in the Root Directory

Re: Problem when installing a Magento 1 extension using wamp 3.3

@ratan_shastri Yes you can copy the app folder of your donwloaded extension to magento root directory and while copying it will ask for merge then you have to just merge the code,

You have to repeat these steps with all the folders.

Thanks
