Bestseller - Migrating to Magento

We are just migrating to magento, so as we are not bringing in historic order information, is there away to populate/import bestseller information without the need for the sales orders?

Easiest way is to display a cherry picked products from a non-navigation category until you have enough data to display it organically. It's not a complicated process either; it's just a matter of choosing collection to display.
