Can Magento Community be use to support click & bricks model?

Has anyone used Magento Community to power commerce transactions across online channel and physical retail? Is this possible?

Thanks for the reply. Here's some more examples:

• Customer visits online store, populates shopping basket but doesn't check out. Saves the shopping basket state (persistent shopping basket). Customer then visits retail store. Retail agent can access the shopping basket and continue sales conversation with customer, performs checkout on behalf of customer and provides the goods
• Customer visits online store, buys items but prefers to collect items at retail store. Magento Commerce reserves the in-store inventory of the retail outlet. Customer visits retail outlet and agent pulls the receipt from Magento Commerce, and the information of which stock was sold. Retail agent provides the goods. 
• Customer visits retail store and buys products but prefer to have products delivered to a shipping address. Retail agent process transaction on Magento Commerce, enters shipping details. 

Some of the capabilities here may require:

• Magento to manage in-store inventory of online as well as physical stores
• Persistent shopping cart (i think this is possible already)

Hi,

"in-stock pickup" option is already built-in. for everything else, you just need POS module like the one from pos.ebizmarts.com .

that one can be tricky. customer will have to login into existing account before adding items into online shopping cart. in this case, agent can find that user and may be able to "login as a user" to see shopping cart content but I'm not sure if this can be transferred into POS - you may want to check with pos.ebizmarts.com support about this.

but Magento + POS is a pretty common setup for a clean and easy online/retail store integrations.
