Can Magento. allow different customers to enter variable pricing?

Hi all,

I am running Magento (we're on community edition ver. 1.7.0.2 and would like to know whether there is a facility to allow the customer to enter their own price for a product. (Yes even £0.00).

The product would have a pre-set value of say £3 that could then be changed.

Is this possible?

Hi,

I haven't tested this - but you could potentially do it with custom options... set the price to be £0 then have a drop down custom option and fro each option have that add the amount to cart

e.g

1 - price +1

2 - price +2

3 - price +3

Its also possible with some custom coding and shouldn't be too much work for a developer.

Is it possible to set the standard price as say £2 in the custom options and then allow the customer to vary the price up or down?

e.g.

1 - price -2

2 - price -1

3 - price +1

etc.
