Create a Gift Card in Community Edition

Hello,

We recently moved from a Magento Enterprise store to a Community Edition store.  We have a "Gift Card" product on Enterprise that was set up directly in the admin with the Gift Card Product Type

I am trying to create a Gift Card in Community but there is no Gift Card Product Type.  I thought I could do this with a Downloadable Product but it is not working as I would like.

I would like it to work something like this:

Is there a way to do this with Community Edition or do I have to purchase an extension?

Hi.

Yes, unfortunately this is not out the box with community so you will need to find yourself an extension to do it.

Magento CE doesn't have this feature out of the box, so a special extension is needed.

Have look at the following Gift Wrapping extension from FmeAddons. It offers 3 different features that include:

Gift wrapping - Upload images of the giftwrapping paper with prices and let customers to chose from

Gift Card - Upload multiple gift cards with prices to let customers attach with the product

Custom message - let customers to write a custom message in gift card before dispactching the product

I think you need other Magento vendors. Now Gift Card extension is provided by many developers and so you will have many choices. Gift Card is very great to boost sales with 300 FREE templates for customers and special vouchers for recipients. 

Hope you will find the best choice and get more and more revenues!

We have installed the Gift Card Extension and this is working for us.
