How to have a small resized image on product page?

Hi,

on the product page the small product image is not resized from the full size base image. Instead the size is changed by using CSS. It means the user has to download an image that is much larger than the image presented on the page. From an SEO perspective that is not good.

I would like to ask how I can generate small product images from the larger base/main images? Just like Magento creates resized thumbnails.

I found a solution by changing image dimensions in file etc/view.xml
