Integrating magento with a website personalization software.

I would like to activate a personolized popup  in a magento webshop that is triggered when the personalisation software (WiqHit) recognizes that a particular product is being viewed.

The recognition can be  triggered when the software identifies the category name in the URL. 

However when a specific product in the category is selected then the category name does not appear in the URL

Where can I find the category name (or a specific keyword that represents the product and/or product category) in a specific product page when its not mentioned in the URL?

is it mentioned anywhere in the code?
