Is anyone using Pimcore as their PIM and DAM for Magento?

Is anyone using Pimcore as their PIM and DAM for Magento?

I'm researching PIM solutions that are open source to handle some of the extra work load of gathering images and attributes before publishing to Magento. Has anyone worked with Pimcore?

No, but in case you don't know Magento go-to PIM solution is Akeneo.

Yes, one of our consulting partners were the first to use it with Magento, but unless you have a need to heavily automate product management then it is complex. The connectors and the way it works mean that you need to have very high growth requirements similar to companies like Amazon.

Adding a PIM/MDM is something enterprise companies do to allow employees to handle more products with the same resource, however the cost is the time to implement to be able to see those benefits. Can point you to this, desktop.commerce.studio, which is based on Magento and Pimcore onboarding and designed to provide the same as Walmarts solutions for under 1hr supplier onboarding (Mulesoft), almost all stores would never see a return on investment if they developed it.

This is regardless of the PIM/MDM that you use, so unless you generate over mid $100,000s revenue per employee per year there's really no point as you would also need to completely adjust the way you work from a business perspective, and companies just will not spend the time to explain to you how to adjust your business model.

Basically it's overkill for 99%+ of Magento stores.

Thank you. We're managing about 11,000 products and looking for economical tools to helping Magento or a PIM which so far are very expensive.

Hi Rick,

Sorry, only just seen your post from last year but looks like you are still interested in using Pimcore.  I've been doing some bit and pieces with it as a CMS for a while now and have also looked at some integration stuff with Magento so do know a bit about it.

What specifically are you looking to do?

Sure, we at Divante are working with PimCore<>Magento on daily basis.

We build a plugin that connects PimCore with a Magento store .

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

And if you need an enterprise DAM solution for Akeneo / Magento you should take a look at Tessa-DAM. Tessa and Akeneo are a perfect team.

Re: Is anyone using Pimcore as their PIM and DAM for Magento?

Hello rickblack,

Please go with the Akeneo PIM. It is currently the best open source PIM software available right now. It is easy to use, customizable and can handle the bulk amount of products.

Webkul has developed Magento 2 Akeneo Connector module for Akeneo which allows you manage content and import as well export products, categories, attributes, attribute groups, and much more between Magento and Akeneo.

Here is the link to Magento 2 Akeneo Connector - https://store.webkul.com/Magento2-Akeneo-Connector.html

Hope this helps!

Rohit.

If you need a PIM system that can be connected with Magento, i would recommend you to try TreoPIM. It is 100% open source system that allows to collect and operate a large amount of information. It gives a possibility to create and manage different catalogs, channels, product families, products, attributes, attribute groups, associated products, images and other media files. Moreover all this data can be easily filtered in any way you want.
TreoPIM can fast transfer this data to Magento thanks to the existence of REST API and developed connectors for Magento 1 and Magento 2.
