On Magento 2 Commerce the Staging feature will help you with that.

Well in magento 2 open source natively this feature is not available ..

if you still wanted to use it then you need to purchase extension here is the link - http://bsscommerce.com/admin-preview-plus-for-magento2.html

if you are using Magento 2 then this feature is available as an Content Staging and Previw module..

so you can do preview using that..

How do other's proof content pages before making live?

I have a staging site, but it is a pain to copy content from staging to live, also prone to mistakes.

For example is there a war to preview changes made to the home page (adding blocks etc) in a live site? Would some sort of user group suffice, and if so how do I associate block visability with a user group?
