Add unique id to order by scanning barcode after orderplacement

Hi,

I'm new to Magento and still don't know all the possibilities with Magento.

I'm looking for a method to scan a barcode with an unique id to a specific product in an order.

Anyone know of a default function that can do that or an extension which can add this unique id either by manuel input or by scanning a barcode?

Hey, do you mean that you want to scan a product then scan a value, then scan another product, then scan another value?

We actually have shipEasy that will do that for you.

Hi Moogento,

Imagine you are my customer. You've placed an order like this:

Phone              $100

Accessory        $10

Another phone $150

When I process the order, I will grab two phones. Edit your order (for my own purpose for future) and add the imei no. for each phone by scanning a barcode. So it will end up like this in the backend and of course in the database etc.

Phone              $100          imei 846787655676

Accessory        $10

Another phone $150          imei 355369765356

I've found a scanner that will work in every input field, but I need to add this extra info to the order and have it saved so if there in the future is a problem with the phone, I can find the order by scanning the imei no.
