I'm in the middle of developing a new shop. Our client sells products that she produces and delivers on a daily basis.
The customer has to be able to define (with a datepicker) when the chosen product should be delivered.
So far I solved the issue by applying a custom option date to every product. This solution is very tedious/ redundant because the date option applies for every product in her shop. After the order has been placed, our client would like to be able to filter the products by said delivery date in the backend. More details HERE
