Hide or Show Product By Customer or Customer Group

We are in the process of developing a complex website. 

On the site, products will need to be restricted by the customer group or by the customer. We plan to have multiple customers and customer groups (around 500 customers). Around half of those 500 customers have products customized to them, so we want a system where only they can see those customized products.

So, to summarize, we need a system where a customer logs into the website and only sees his/her products that nobody else can see.

Can this be done?
