We are in the process of developing a complex website.
On the site, products will need to be restricted by the customer group or by the customer. We plan to have multiple customers and customer groups (around 500 customers). Around half of those 500 customers have products customized to them, so we want a system where only they can see those customized products.
So, to summarize, we need a system where a customer logs into the website and only sees his/her products that nobody else can see.
Can this be done?
Thanks in advance!
Please take a look at our Catalog Permissions extension. It seems to be suitable for your needs.
You can check out this extension - Customer Group Catalog
It will help you control products and categories visibility by customer groups in your store.
Here is our solution: Customer Groups Manager Will work with customer groups.
The following extensions from FME will allow you to restrict different sections of your store. You can hide products, categories/sub categories and CMS pages from specific customers and customer groups such as not logged in customers, retailers, wholesalers etc.
You may have a look at this Magento Product & Price Visibility Rules plugin that will help to make products visible to selected customer groups.
Assigning specific products and categories to specified customers and customer groups is kind of an business oriented requirement and its not available with Magento default, however we have developed customer specific catalog extension for both for Magento 1 and Magento 2 where you will have ability to assign specific products and category to specific customers or group and it will also allow you to modify prices for individual products for specific customers and group.
Check out this Magento 2 extension to restrict products by customer group. It will help you restrict different sections of your store i.e. products, categories, CMS pages etc. by customer or customer group.
Check out this one for Magento 1: https://marketplace.magento.com/fme-geoip-restrict-catalog-by-customer-groups.html
Do all clients must register?
Just adding one more extension in list to fulfill the requirement:
