M2E performance

Hi, I migrated my Magento 1 installation to Magento 2. After going live, M2E extension started to launch PHP processes that are consuming all server resources. I have these questions:

1. Why is it happening after going live?

2. How can I make M2E perform at normal levels?

3. Would it perform better using another extension for eBay integration?

4. Which ones do you recommend?
