I don't have a good Magento Extension to recommend. Instead, I'd suggest a standalone platform like vBulletin. There are ways that you can align your Magento store more closely with a separate forum. You can launch the forum at a subdomain, much like the example that you provided. You can also take steps to tie together search results.
