Can I upgrade an existing Magento installation without using the downloader?

Hi,

I'm trying to upgrade a site from 1.9.0.1 to 1.9.1 but I'm getting no "yellow rows" after clicking the Check for Upgrades button.

I've tried re-installing the downloader but this hasn't helped. Does anyone know how to solve this? If there's a way to update Magento without using Connect, I'd love to know as well.

If you dont have core changes you can download magetno package and replace it with your installation.

Just make backup in case it would fail or will need additional customization. Or better try to do it on dev envirioment.

I tried it and got multiple errors on front & backend.. anything else I can try?

Check what the errors you have got. Also you need t owait once it will be replaced and then open homepage.
