Is it worth getting into Magento 2 for a medium size business?

Part of a medium size business exploring Magento 2 to begin selling online. Is it worth getting into? (seeing quite a few people complain about the bugginess, how it's costly to maintain, etc.) If so, is it good to start with open source?

Yes, you can start with Magento open source.

There is no platform which is bug free even paid platform too have bugs. thing is how you are customizing and managing your store. How you modified how you configured system. There are more then 3 Lakh developers on this platform working. This platform have  very big marketplace so you can get any kind of plugin or 3rd party module which you needed. Community is very strong.

Upgraded technology and time to time they upgrade and release security patches too. rest this is based on your SKUS and requirement too so based on that you can choose any platform.

Hope this helps you!

There's a lot of wonderful content in this book. Magento selection is similar to a big investment or procurement process in that it need a great deal of thinking and care to guarantee you're making the best decision for your company.

I believe that there was less danger with M1 because it had a lower entrance barrier and cheaper cost of ownership, but if you're considering opening an M2 store, you should think about it carefully and make an informed decision.

I think we should choose something else! CMS Magento is designed for launching large-scale and complex e-commerce projects. It is inefficient to use it for a store with a dozen products - you will only spend time on the study and implementation. You need to use Magento for something large, with international reach or at least with unusual functionality. Otherwise, the costs won't pay off, and you won't get liquid wealth. The latest current version available for download is Magento 2.4.3. This is the main branch of development. But the team also supports legacy code of some previous versions. For example, a patch for Magento 2.3.7 was introduced along with the 2.4 branch release.
