Hi,

I am trying to install Magento 2 but it fails due an error.

The command I am trying to use (xxx replaces my details in here):

In InstallCommand.php line 274:

Parameter validation failed

I am able to (internally on the server too) externally log in to my database and that works fine so that part should be good.

When I change localhost to 127.0.0.1 then it does work I recon but I get the error:

SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] Connection refused

In InstallCommand.php line 274:
Parameter validation failed

Been trying for hours but without any progress. Can anyone tell me how to get this installer to work?

I use Nginx 1.14 and I can (on my server and externally) connect to my database without any problems with the username and password I have written in the above code.

My Postgres config file was updated to:

listen_address 0.0.0.0

If I change my db to:

--db-host=127.0.0.1:5432

it takes a minute or so but then it gives me an error "MySQL server has gone away", eventhough I am using Postgres and not MySQL.

EDIT:

Got it working, it seems like Magento only supports MySQL (???), tried that and it works perfectly. Weird, the tutorials I followed said I could use Postgres.
