Magento 2 - Localhost - Admin url returning 404 error

Thanks.  This worked in my case.  Admin screen url changed after loading sample data via composer.  Very strange.

Solved the problem for me by adding .htaccess at the root of Magento

I still cant get it working even if i copied the code   to the root folder.

I am using hostinger.com for web hosting and magento 2 for CMS.

But when i enter the file browser in the hosting account, there is no /magento folder.

What shoul I do??

and copying the .htaccess file to root does nothing.

During Setup you can replace the url i.e. http://localhost/ with http://127.0.0.1/ which worked for me
