No images after installation

Hi there,

I am new to Magento and have an issue with images not being displayed.

I downloaded the CE version

Unpacked / Uploaded to my webhost

Ran throught the Setup without any issues.

Now when I go to the home page or admin page there are no images, just the outline of a rectangle / blank image icon.

I think its to do with the .htaccess but don't know how to fix it.

I do not have SSH access, so reading some fixes about using Dev mode may not work.

The site is installed on the sub domain https://www.IT-Me-Up.co.uk/shop

Do I need to do any rewrite base type commands in the .htaccess file to fix the image issue?

What images are missing?

At glance, I see no issues with installation and could see that logo image works just fine.

I have just tried this fix:

It looks to be working now but I do not know if its the correct way to go about resolving the issue.

@jai_mehtaIssues does not appear / exist on MAMP or LAMP environment. The issue you are witnessing is more for WAMP and possibly due to webserver configuration.

Fix you have applied if fine to fix the issue on WAMP. Let know otherwise.
