It looks like Magento 2 is very picky about the hosting environment, we had to keep removing things until we managed to get it to complete the install. You really need to start with a completely clean install and load the absolute minimum.
Make sure you clear your browser, switched from Chrome to Firefox or if that fails use the cli however it appears the cli options were changed between releases, and the cli cannot handle new gTLDs whereas with the browser install it is fine but more hit and miss! There's a group who sent us a pre-installed Magento 2 PHP56 AWS AMI, we received the PHP7 version, now that's fast!
Hi Sindre
yes I'm runing teh own host and I reinstalled it two or three time with diffrent mysql server and end up with the sam issue.
I give it now a last try and reinstalled the server again. I will now do the install and get back with the results.
Thanks for mentioning the credentials I removed it from the previous logs, but missed it on the others
But it's anyway only a test box.
Regards
Volker
Have you tried installing another web application such as Wordpress to rule out whether the issue is with the MySQL server or if it only affects Magento? Also if you can paste the my.cnf settings it might help to highlight possible issues with the MySQL config.
