Re: installing with web Magento Installer 2.1.6 with sample data Installation crashes.

ok I fixed it.
what I did.
#I removed everything.
cd  <magentoDIR>
#installed it again
gunzip < files.tar.ga | tar xvf -

#dropped my database and created my database  with mysql

mysql -u root -p
drop database dbName
create database dbName

#then I installed it with a a script from the shell

#enable magento
chmod u+x bin/magento

 ./bin/magento setup:install --base-url=http://127.0.0.1/magento2/ \ --db-host=localhost --db-name=magento --db-user=magento --db-password=magento \ --admin-firstname=Magento --admin-lastname=User --admin-email=user@example.com \ --admin-user=admin --admin-password=admin123 --language=en_US \ --currency=USD --timezone=America/Chicago --use-rewrites=1

#correct all rights

chown -R www-data:www-data *

# I had still that same issieu with that I had a version name in my js and css call but my shop was enabled still js and gif's not shown because rewrites were not working.
# the fix for that: enable the rewrite module since all .htaccess were there !!!
a2enmod rewrite
# restart apache

service apache2 restart

# DONE now not alle my pictures are still not shown in my frontend.. so my cache is not updated !

Those steps are already explained elsewhere :-)

Re: installing with web Magento Installer 2.1.6 with sample data Installation crashes.

A small update:
I found the problem that the default install stopped but I run inanother problem.

first the solution for me was: stick to the defaults.

so no timezone selection/ language selection et all. just keep the en_US

then it will run further but also stops on it way.

Then I did the following

correct all the rights:

find . -type f -exec chmod 644 {} \;
find . -type d -exec chmod 755 {} \;
find ./var -type d -exec chmod 777 {} \;
find ./pub/media -type d -exec chmod 777 {} \;
find ./pub/static -type d -exec chmod 777 {} \;
chmod 777 app/etc
chmod 644 ./app/etc/*.xml

chmod u+x bin/magento

chown -R www-data:www-data *.*
chown -R www-data:www-data .*

I found a problem that still some version number was seen in my code and no images etc..
this was fixed with
php bin/magento -vvv setup:static-content:deploy en_US
./bin/magento -vvv cache:flush
./bin/magento -vvv sampledata:deploy
./bin/magento -vvv setup:di:compile
chown -R www-data:www-data *.*

Still now the problem I face is that my static pages ar not functioning and also my admin page is not working.

so no <SITE>/men/tops-men.html
and no <Site>/adminpage

what todo with that ??
